Tuesday Transformations: Essential oils cure type 2 diabetes!

In today’s installment of the Tuesday Transformation Series we’ve got a great story of a lady who used essential oils to help manage her type 2 diabetes.

Sarah approached me on Facebook to share this story. It was the experience of her close friend who agreed to let us share how she cured her type 2 diabetes using essential oils.

Sarah said: “Through using essential oils she is completely off her medication after just a few months, she has been able to lower her levels and can now keep her license which allows her to keep her job.”

When Sarah first brought this up I must admit I said: “I would never have thought of essential oils as a possible treatment strategy but now that you bring it up I could see how it would be effective.”

After thinking about it more, of course I can see how essential oils can be beneficial because I have used essential oils therapeutically for many things.

So I asked Sarah if she could get more information from her friend about what she did.

Tuesday Transformations True Stories: Essential oils cure type 2 diabetes!

Essential Oil Routine For Diabetes

Sarah said:

“I asked my friend what she was doing with her oils, she said in the beginning she was taking 2 drops of each oil (Grapefruit, Coriander, Cinnamon) up to 5 times a day, more if she was eating more.

She was checking her levels like normal so whenever they were high she would take another self made capsule. She said it only took a few months before she was noticing that she wasn’t near as hungry all the time which meant for her that her sugar levels were staying in a good range.

So she tapered back on the oils, taking one capsule before every meal and then as needed. She has now been using them for 8 months and says her hunger and cravings are all within a normal healthy range, instead of always feeling like she was starving she is eating her 3 meals a day and maybe a snack or 2 but always using the oils before she eats.

Her Dr. told her she is looking great with her glucose levels and that whatever she was doing is working and to keep it up. (funny how they don’t ever want to KNOW what you are doing if it is an alternative route though.)”

Practitioner Designed Or Design Yourself?

Sarah’s friend did not have a practitioner design the routine for her. Like Sarah, her friend uses doTerra brand essential oils and just by reading others success stories and what they used she decided that she didn’t have anything to lose other than a little money, which at that point she was looking at losing her job so she needed to try anything.

Sarah says: “I actually met my friend when she came to a class I was teaching, so we started on Cinnamon, Coriander, and Grapefruit. I know she now takes it in a capsule right before EVERY meal. but I think she was taking it more when she was trying to get her levels under control.”

I love to hear stories like this where people successfully use natural therapy treatments. I am a HUGE advocate for natural treatments all the time and have raised my kids natural the whole way.

It’s great to know that these type of treatments are beneficial, we know this by hearing success stories like this.

I’ve also heard a lot of good things about doTerra essential oils so if you want to purchase some, please check out Sarah’s doTerra shop.

I’ll have to do some more research on Grapefruit, Coriander and Cinnamon and share the results with you here soon.

Cinnamon bark, but if you are not using doterra’s brand of certified pure therapeutic grade oils then you can not insure the same consistency from bottle to bottle. So be sure of your source for oils when using them for medication. Let me also just not that here diabetes is not cured but completely managed with essential oils which is awesomely amazing!!

Do you know what type of capsules were used and if they were prepared in advance (i.e. a batch was made and stored in a bottle for later)? I am researching for my sister and wondered if making a large quantity of capsules ahead of time will destroy the capsules before she can take them.

Any other details would also be most appreciated! Thanks so much!!!

They were empty gelatin capsules I don’t know what size but probably 00 because they are the smallest. She mixed up one at a time. The problem with mixing oils and then leaving them to sit is that it actually changes the property of the oils. And not being a chemist I don’t know in what ways each oil changes. Taking them all 3 separate does not change them even though they mix in the stomach. You can read more about this in http://neweverythingessential.me/synergy/ does that answer your question??

Thanks for answering that question Sarah :)

Lisa, I think if you make up the capsules with each oil in separate capsules they would probably be fine as I know they sell some essential oil capsules like this. What’s your experience with this Sarah, would they last a while? Otherwise you could buy your sister the oils, along with the empty capsules and she can do it herself.

By the way Sarah, this seems to be a popular topic so perhaps you would like to be a guest on the GFE podcast and we can chat about this, along with other essentil oil things.

  2. says

Yes I hadn’t thought of that but Jedha that would be a perfect way to pre-capsulate your oils. Each one separately would work fine if she doesn’t mind taking 3 different capsules. We do sell oils in capsules and even some blends like for allergies but again when we make a blend we have scientific research behind which oils to blend and which amounts to get the desired effect. Again I agree putting each oil in it’s own capsule would work great. You’ll want to test a small batch to see how long they can be in the gel cap before it starts to soft.
Jedha, I love teaching others about essential oils and have really enjoyed your blog so anything I can do to help educate would be wonderful. Email me and let me know what you have in mind

  3. Shannon says

It makes me sad when articles like these push a certain brand. Clearly shows an ulterior motive. Articles like this would be more credible if you didn’t include that. And I should add that I am a big fan of oils and believe what they can do.

    • says

Actually Shannon, there is no ulterior motive here. I don’t promote essential oils and have no affiliation to any company!

This story comes from a true person, Sarah, whom is mentioned and linked to from this post is the person who provided the story and therefore I linked to her essential oil shop.

I am also a BIG fan of essential oils and they have AMAZING healing potential but just wanted to clarify there is no ulterior motive here. Thanks :)

  4. Jan says

My husband has high cholesterol and diabetes, which didn’t show up till after taking statins for the high cholesterol. Grapefruit is not allowed when taking statins. Is there another oil he could substitute safely? Also what oils bring down cholesterol?

    • says

Hi Jan. That’s interesting that he now has high cholesterol since taking statins! Not trying to offer medical advice but don’t you think that’s wrong and perhaps he should consider to stop taking those? Unfortunately there isn’t much evidence that statins help anyone with cholesterol. Even heart surgeons refuse to take them and think it’s better to eat a healthy diet instead!

I can’t help you with more essential oil info in regard to cholesterol as I don’t know too much about them myself. All the best :)

      • says

        Jan,
The oil that I would suggest for high cholesterol is lemongrass. I would start out with 2 drops either under the tongue or in an empty gel capsule. Always make sure that you alert your doctor that you are wanting to try an essential oil along with your medication so that they can monitor the levels of medicine. They will want to check the cholesterol after starting the oils to see if they are making a difference and then lower the dose of statin to accommodate for the oils, if the levels go down but are still to high take the oils twice a day and after some time check the levels again. A lot of people are able to drastically lower their medication or eliminate it all together. Best of luck!!

  5. Michelle says

Can you put all the E.O. referenced above under the tongue to absorb or must they be put in capsules first?

    • says

You can put the oils under the tongue but cinnamon is a VERY hot oil and can certainly cause burning especially on sensitive skin or people who are more sensitive than to heat/hot oils than others. I would just suggest testing a very small amount of the oil before doing a full drop. Or mixing with a carrier oil first like virgin coconut oil, which is very healthy in my opinion. Again I am not a Dr. But I have seen these oils work for many people and for many different situations. Always consult your physician of your changes in treatment so it can be monitored. Best of health to you in your journey.
