We all fall prey to the festive season, yes even a nutrition and health coach such as myself
I don’t sweat it too much, I just enjoy the season and then embark on a clean up at the beginning of the year, which is what I’m about to do now. The goal is to regain my energy and shed a few festive pounds in the process.
So over the next month I will be putting myself on what I consider to be a clean eating one month diet plan. It’s certainly not restrictive because I love my food way too much so there will still be lots of delicious meals to enjoy.

I’m not going to specify an entire food list here but just know that there will be no junk food included. No sugar of any kind, including fruit. Loads of veggies, fresh meats, chicken and fish, healthy fats, a little brown rice, cottage cheese and plain greek yogurt, apple cider vinegar and lemons and that’s about it.
What I include will no doubt become clear to you over the month as I share my visual food diary right here on the GFE blog so that you can follow along. I’ll also be trying to include at least one recipe a day here also so I hope you’ll try some of these meals for yourself. And if you feel like getting involved, please do as I’d love to share your results and experiences along the way.
I won’t always be posting the most glamorous food pictures. Sometimes I am too hungry or busy to wait to take the perfect photo but I’m sure you will enjoy the visual food log in any case
DAY 1 Clean Eating One Month Diet Plan
So today started with a substantial breakfast of some fried eggs, chicken salsa and lettuce.

I had loads of outdoor work to do today so I needed a really good feed and some extra carbs so lunch was one that my partner loves since he was set to do more than me
Some amazingly delicious gravy beef with mashed potato and steamed veggies.
Note: All of my meals are made from scratch. Fresh ingredients all the way. No instant gravy mixes or things like that.

After shoveling concrete, cutting wood, potting plants and fixing a few things around the house I was HUNGRY again and needed a snack before dinner so I had 2 brown rice cakes with cottage cheese and chicken salsa sauce.

Dinner was an easy salad topped with pumpkin and served with salmon patties. I made a dressing for my partner and I just had mine topped with olive oil and lemon.

For day one we are off to a good start and I feel great. I ate well, did lots of outdoor work and I’m definitley going to sleep well tonight.
No recipes to share today because I’m beat but I’ll see you tomorrow for the day 2 log and a recipe too.
