Podcast #1: Adrenal Fatigue Case Study Plus a BIG Welcome to the Show

Welcome to the very first episode of the Good Food Eating Podcast, my brand spanking new podcast, which is so very exciting!

I have been thinking about getting this podcast out for quite a few months now and like lots of things, finding the time to make it happen often takes longer than you think. So it’s really exciting to finally have it done and get the ball rolling.

I want to thank Sound Factory Studio for doing the great music for the show, I hope you enjoy that because Paul did a great job. Thanks :)

What’s The Good Food Eating Podcast All About?

The mission for this podcast is to share empowering information that can help you change your life and feel fabulous!

I look forward to sharing loads of different stuff related to nutrition and diet, healthy eating, healthy habits, and lifestyle and disease prevention.

And I’ll also be sharing loads of info about health conditions and what we might do with our diet and lifestyle to support better health and function.

GFEpodcast1Although I do love to talk, this show is not always going to be me doing the talking. I look forward to bringing on my clients, friends, and colleagues who can share their wisdom and inspiration too.

There are sooo many topics I’d like to cover and we will get to them all eventually but this week we are going to briefly dig into a client case study that covers the topic of adrenal fatigue. It may seem like a strange topic to get started on but it is an area of passion and I’ve been working with a client recently so thought it was a good place to start.

This will be a weekly show of around 30 minutes duration so you can listen to it while making dinner or driving to work. If the topics are quite in depth  I’ll make a series of podcasts over a few weeks.

This Podcast is For YOU

Most importantly the Good Food Eating Pocast is ALL about YOU. So what would you like to hear about? What would you like to learn? Do you have a question you’d like answered?

Episode Number 1

Aside from saying welcome, in this podcast I’ll be sharing an adrenal fatigue case study from a client I’ve been working with, Lisa (name changed for privacy purposes). We’ll actually be covering the topic of adrenal fatigue next week as well, when we talk about treatment.

It’s great to use a case study in order to put things into context so I hope you enjoy the story and process we went through.

In this episode you will learn:

  • What is adrenal fatigue?
  • Lisa’s story and discovering root cause
  • What symptoms she presented with and various symptoms of adrenal fatigue
  • Symptomatic treatment vs treating the person as a whole
  • The impact cortisol can have on your whole body and person
  • The 3 steps to moving forward

Next week we’ll cover these 3 steps and go into detail on what we did to help her situation.

I also didn’t get to cover everything in this episode. This is a very new medium so I did miss a few important factors. However I covered everything related to the case study I was talking about and mostly I was trying to communicate how stress can really impact our entire body.

If you’re struggling with adrenal fatigue you might like to check out the book and program I wrote to help people overcome it. The Adrenal Fatigue Handbook: Meal Plans & Food Guide. Check that out here if you want to.

For now I hope  you enjoy the very first podcast and I look forward to hearing from you.

Adrenal Fatigue

Adrenal fatigue can be like a silent passenger that slowly creeps up on you and then one day you realise you’re entirely exhausted, run down, worn out and feeling like a burnt out prune :)

You may have been to doctors, you might have a variety of symptoms, and yet still can’t find a solution to the problem. And you may even be finding it difficult to function in the world at all!

It is an unfortunate truth that many doctors and practitioners don’t recognise or test for adrenal fatigue and yet it is rising in epidemic proportions. This is because it is a stress driven condition and most of us just have way too much stress on many different levels.

That’s what happened to Lisa.

Her story actually tracked back 10 years to shift work she had done, and from there various stress situations just kept making her worse and worse until she was in a state of chronic fatigue. But even when things get this bad you can turn them around. After just a few months using the 3 key principles to healing, she had colour, energy and vibrancy back into her life.

Enjoy the podcast, I hope you learn a bit more about adrenal fatigue and the ways it can affect you.

See you next week when we talk about adrenal fatigue treatment.
