Start by keeping a food diary of everything ou eat and drink, even if you aren’t eating so well right now. What this does is make you more aware of what is going in your mouth and when you start seeing it on paper it begins to motivate you to change some things.

Best of luck with it and let us know how you go :)

I lost 27 kgs myself 10 years ago, going from weighing 93 kgs to 66. I’m only 5’5″/165cm so I guess I should be weighing just about those 62-65. I have gained about 15 kgs again and I’m NOT happy about it!

I do take medication for epilepsy which slows down my metabolism and therefor also makes it a little harder for me than for many others to keep the weight off, but I don’t want the epilepsy to be an excuse as I also had that when I lost the 27 kgs.

I remember being really happy and cheerful then and everything was going great and all things were a success – at least that’s how I feel when I look at it now – after having shed all those kgs. I find that when I’m active and eat right my mood is healthy too, whereas when I’m not my mood is ‘unhealthy’ as well.

I love how you lost your weight! Writing the food lists and of course being active. The way you eat is SO IMPORTANT so good for you that you found a way to start eating healthy, thumbs up! :-) Right now my eating habits aren’t very good, so I think I’ll try what you did :-)

Anyway, great story and best of luck to you :-)

Louise
